Siao

Origin: Hokkien – literally means crazy.

Siao is the hokkien word for crazy. It can be used in a myriad of forms, stringing with various hokkien and english words into a phrase.

Adjective:

Singlish: “You see that new recruit over there? He looks like a “siao kia“, every time so “siao on” to fall in first in his platoon. I hope his girlfriend is not a “siao zhar bor” to match a “siao ding dong” like him.

English:  “You see that new recruit over there? He looks like a “crazy kid”. He is always so “hardworking” and falls in first in his platoon. I hope his girlfriend is not a “crazy woman” to match a “crazy idiot” like him.
