Queenstown

Queenstown located in the south-western part of Singapore’s central region is the first satellite town in Singapore. It was first developed by Singapore Improvement Trust in the 1950s and thereafter by HDB in the 1960s.
The name Queenstown was chosen for the first satellite town to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1952.
Notable buildings include Queensway shopping centre which is famous for its sports merchandise. Ikea is also nearby along Alexandra road.
